CONSUMER PROFILE PHOTOSHOOT:
SLOANE RANGER
This task allowed us to explore how to articulate sub cultures, architypes or even stereotypes in a visually pleasing way.
Our groups brief consisted of the Sloane Ranger architype. We constructed moodboards of what it is to be a 'Sloaney' and the attitudes values and beliefs that someone of this criteria may uphold.
Noticeably you can see the 'Hunter' brand clearly as we thought that someone of this culture would like their posessions to be visably noticed.
You may also realise the male and female forms retracted to an abstract use of a shoe. We realised that by taking the model out of the situation we could really focus on the true core of this consumer.
We chose a man and wife - as researched we found many Sloane Rangers were married and of traditional British values. This reflected in the brands they wear, true British heritage. Burberry springs to mind. During the photoshoot we tried to tap into these small signifiers using mechanics of a watch, herringbone print, checks and countryside colour schemes.
The modern twist that made this consumer profile to a nuance is the use of pink welly against dull muted background. We thought that although the values and heritage stays - the colours and youth may adapt.
