SEAHORSE ZINE

A university set brief to create a zine based on identity and gender.

The route we delved into explored the oppressions females often are confronted with, even now in the 21st century. We researched the media portrayal of women and how this linked with fashion. The idea of suffocation and control really is what we tried to focus on within the photography.

Most photography was taken by Lauren Mustoe where we collaborated during a studio shoot how to best portray barbie as a figure of restriction.

The style we wanted was dada collage and cut and stick affect to the final document, but keeping bright and colour pop imagery.

We created a sewn bound zine which consisted mainly of conceptualised imagery with some anchoring text.
